Driven by the Grassroots: Advancing Adivasi Rights and Sustainable Development in Chhattisgarh
Chaupal Gramin Vikas Prashikshan Evam Shodh Sansthan is a community led platform dedicated to empowering adivasi and marginalized populations across Chhattisgarh. Our work is rooted in the belief that sustainable development only happens when communities lead their own change. By bridging the gap between government policy and grassroots reality, we strengthen local governance through gram sabhas , secure forest rights for traditional dwellers , and implement climate resilient livelihood and water management strategies. From providing life critical nutrition in rural creches to managing complex chronic health conditions like sickle cell anemia, Chaupal works hand-in-hand with the community to build a resilient, self-reliant future.

Vision and Mission
Building organizations of the marginalized and vulnerable to access their comprehensive rights of livelihood, nutrition and health with dignity.
Chaupal envisions a fair and just society in which the most deprived sections of society are provided a favorable environment which is free from any kind of discrimination. Chaupal’s mandate is to improve public policy structures, identify important policy gaps and strengthen grievance redressal mechanisms. Chaupal believes in strengthening organizations and collectives of the ‘excluded’ and marginalized, building awareness on rights and entitlements of work, nutrition, health and social security and creating capacities and mechanisms of collective action through which the ‘excluded’ can secure their access in operational terms and intervene in local governance structures.
